Please note that submitting this application does not immediately make you an RFPA member. All applications are subject to eligibility requirements and approval by the RFPA Committee of Management.

Membership Fee and Payment

The current RFPA membership fee is $40 per year from the date of joining.

If you choose to make a single annual bank payment (Option 1) rather than an automatic periodic deduction, it is your responsibility to ensure your membership fee is paid when due to avoid your membership lapsing.

Annual payment reminders will not be sent by email. If you are unsure of your payment status or renewal date, please contact your RFPA Branch Secretary.

Privacy Policy

RFPA Application Process

Please read carefully so that you are aware of the process and the timeframe.

1. Your Membership Application will NOT be processed until we receive your payment.

2. Your Membership Status is Pending Member. You ARE NOT YET a Member of the Retired & Former Police Association of NSW Inc.

3. You will be contacted by email or phone by the Secretary to confirm that your Membership Application has been received and that your status is that of a Pending Member.

4. At the next available Committee of Management (CoM) meeting, usually held each month, your name will be submitted to the CoM for approval.

5. Please note that, depending upon when your application is received, it could take up to two months for you to be contacted with the result of the CoM decision. This is to ensure probity checks are completed.

6. If your application is approved, you will be contacted by the Secretary and the Secretary of the RFPA Branch you nominated on the Membership Application form. If you have not nominated an RFPA Branch, the Secretary will attach your membership to the closest branch to where you reside. You DO NOT have to attend branch meetings to remain a member of the RFPA.

7. Your RFPA Membership Card will either be sent to you, or you will be advised that it will be presented to you at the next branch meeting.

8. You will then be entitled to exercise all the benefits of RFPA Membership, including the exclusive Financial Member Discounts and Benefits.

9. If your Membership Application is declined by the Committee of Management, you will be advised of the decision and the reasons for it, and invited to submit your objection to the decision in writing to the Committee of Management.

10. Please make a note of your RFPA Member ID (e.g. 1234), which is printed on your Membership Card and on the address label of your RFPA Gazette above your name. Please use your RFPA Member ID in all correspondence with the RFPA.

11. If, after your RFPA Membership is approved, the Committee of Management becomes aware of any issues which contravene the RFPA standards of behaviour, the Committee of Management may determine your continued Membership under the provisions stated in the RFPA Constitution.

I understand that my application is subject to eligibility under the RFPA Constitution and approval by the Committee of Management.

I understand that the RFPA Secretary will contact me by email or phone within 7–14 days to confirm receipt of my application. My application will then be reviewed at the next available Committee of Management meeting, which may take up to two months. If my membership is approved, it will be dated from the day I made my payment.  

If accepted as a member, I agree to abide by the Constitution, rules and standards of the Association.

Once this form has been submitted and your Membership Fees have been paid, your RFPA Membership Status will be PENDING MEMBER.
