Many of our members will know former NSW Police Officer Col Forsdike, who served for 17 years in General Duties, Highway Patrol and as a VIP Cyclist.

Col and his wife Anthea, who has devoted much of her working life to nursing and caring for others, now live in Penang, Malaysia.

Sadly, just three months short of being cancer-free for 20 years, Anthea has been diagnosed with a recurrence of an aggressive cancer.

Their circumstances have made an already difficult situation even harder. Having lived overseas for the past eight years, they no longer have private health cover in Australia. Although they have health cover in Malaysia, Anthea’s previous cancer history means her current treatment is not covered.

The specialised treatment she requires is also not available to them locally, and they are now looking to travel to China for treatment that may give Anthea the best possible chance of a longer and healthier life.

A friend in the UK has established a GoFundMe appeal to help Col and Anthea meet the considerable costs associated with Anthea’s treatment and travel.

If any members of our RFPA and wider Police Family are in a position to assist, no matter how small the contribution, it would be greatly appreciated.
