COMPUTER CORNER

When it comes to learning computers and getting computer help, your friendly RPA 'Computer Corner' webpage can now help!

This one-stop webpage will be regularly undated for you to learn as much as you want about your computer in (hopefully) a friendly learning environment.  Given that you have made your way to this page, we understand that you are probably only looking for handy tips, useful websites and information to enhance your computing skills as a 'senior' computer user.

The beauty of such information is that you can learn in your own time in the comfort of your own home without having to attend costly computing classes.  This information is designed for everybody and particularly for those seniors and people who have not grown up with computers.  In other words, this page is meant to be 'senior friendly'!

So what does 'senior friendly' mean?

Well, we…

  • won't be charging you anything for the information we supply
  • make no assumption that you understand any computer jargon. All of the material will be written in plain English and with little computer jargon (unless it is needed and then we will explain what it means)
  • provide easy to follow instructions and tutorials
  • will not make you feel uncomfortable and therefore lose your confidence like classes often do. After all, classes often just reaffirm how much you don't know rather than teach you what you want to know
  • allow you to learn at your own pace at home. You can also checkout other 'friendly' websites full of information
  • create everything to be printable as we recognise how much you will want to print notes off to read later. Everything is printed in large and easy to read fonts (the style and type of text used)
  • use lots of clear and descriptive diagrams and pictures wherever possible

Bottom line...

We recognise that for you to learn all about your computer as painlessly as possible, we will need to provide notes that are user friendly and easy to learn from without the fear of being over whelming. We hope that we will achieved this.

Just to make you feel at ease, here is something we thought was light hearted.....

Two elderly couples were enjoying friendly conversation when one of the men asked the other, "Fred, how was the memory clinic you went to last month?"

"Outstanding," Fred replied. "They taught us all the latest psychological techniques: visualization, association. It was great."

"Wow! What was the name of the clinic?"

Fred went blank. He thought and thought, but couldn't remember. Then a smile broke across his face and he asked, "What do you call that flower with the long stem and thorns?"

"You mean a rose?"

"Yes, that's it!" He turned to his wife, "Rose, what was the name of that memory clinic?"

Thanks for visiting this page everyone!  So what are you waiting for? Come back soon to begin your lessons!
