        NORTHERN RIVERS:
Our last meeting of our Branch was held at Lismore Police Station as it coincided with Retired Police day. The Local Area Commander, Greg Martin kindly invited retired members to use the Station's facilities for our meeting. There was 27 members present and their wives making it a very good attendance. We would like to thank Superintendent Martin for his ongoing support of Retired Police and also for supplying lunch that was very much appreciated. Our members also appreciated the informative talks provided by Superintendent Martin's staff. We hope next year will be even better.

Those present at the meeting were Charles Halloran, Bruce King, Charlie Patch, Bill Nugent, Brian Schoobert, Ian Leven, Ian Whitehall, Kel Pearce, Kev Schofield, Eric Strong, Con Vernardos, Gary Rowney, Malcolm Tower, Ted Harrison, Maurie Lloyd, Peter Macrae, Henry Arnold, John McInerney, Greg Smith, Noel Steel, Cliff McPherson, Bruce Heard, Mike Sullivan, Ray Constable, Glenys Parker and C Wallace. (Apologies if I have misspelt any persons name as some names in the attendance book were a little difficult to read).

I personally was away from the Northern Rivers area on a holiday with my wife to Waikiki, Hawaii. Quite an eye opener. The Waikiki Police Station is in a beautiful location right on the beach. Photo of the Police Station and one of their cars is attached.

Regards

Glenn Taylor
