        NEW ENGLAND:
New England branch members travelled from Armidale, Glen Innes, Goondiwindi, Inverell, Tamworth, Tenterfield and Warialda, to meet at the RSM Club, Inverell on the 1st September. Our branch again took the opportunity of holding our quarterly September meeting in conjunction with Retired Police Day. Members accompanied by their wives attending were, George & Robyn McGilvray, Greg & Maree Chie, Bob & Gael Drew, Lee & Helen Evans, John & Cara Drew, Bruce Thomas, Ray Zahn, Laurie & Marion Smith, Geoffrey Parker, Monty Ehsman, Charlie Auld, Cec Noakes, Peter Trow, and Richard & Gail O’Dell. Also attending were Supt Fred Trench and Chris Milne from the New England LAC, D/S/Con Andrew Chetham of the Forensic Services Unit, Inverell and Cath Allen NSW Police Legacy.

Supt Trench presented the Commissioner’s 2016 RPA pin to George McGilvray, Bob Drew, Charlie Auld, Bruce Thomas, John Drew, Laurie Smith, Geoffrey Parker, Monty Ehsman, Cec Noakes, Ray Zahn, Peter Trow, Lee Evans, Richard O’Dell & Greg Chie.

Cath Allen, Program Coordinator, "Backup for Life Project", Police Legacy gave a detailed address to our gathering, relating to the introduction of the ‘Backup for Life’ program. Detective Senior Constable Andrew Chetham gave an informative talk on changes to the gathering of forensic evidence from crime scenes and how the information is stored and utilised.
