        MID NORTH COAST:

On Tuesday 13th March 2018 our branch joined with the Manning Great Lakes Branch to enjoy a luncheon at the Harrigan’s Irish Pub, Harrington Waters. All that attended stated the stories and the Guinness flowed strongly and a great time was had by about 30 of our members.

April was a sad month for our branch due to the passing of our stalwart member, Tony SMITH, on the 28th April 2018 after a courageous fight against cancer. Tony’s funeral on Monday 7th May 2018 was very well attended and a wonderful tribute to a great bloke.

We held our meeting on the 10th of April and our guest speaker was Peter ZIU from Bridges Finance. Peter gave us a run down on possible changes to the Police Pension although nothing has been confirmed at this stage. The meeting was attended by Bob BRUCE, Keith RULE, Ian CAMPBELL & Dianne CAMPBELL, Doug CAMPBELL, George McCLEERY, Ron HAMMERSLEY, Laurie & Marie McGRATH, Val IVLEV, Stewart McNEICE, Marg & Jeff ELLIOTT, Paul GRIFFIN, Al LUKES, Betty HARTNETT, James CRANNA, Sid CRANE, Derek McNEIL, Brian BANKS and Bruce SAUNDERS.

Our outing in May to the Corowa Dam was unfortunately postponed due to inclement weather but will be organised for later in the year.

The branch AGM will be held on Tuesday 5th June 2018. A presentation of Veteran Certificates will be made to Gary SCOTT and Graeme DITCHBURN on the day and will be followed by a luncheon sponsored by the Police Bank, Port Macquarie.

The Christmas in July Luncheon for the Mid North Coast Branch will be hosted this year by the Port City Bowling Club and will be held on Tuesday 3rd of July 2018 11.30am. The branch will be subsidising part cost and members can expect bookings to cost app. $25.oo. The meal will be the usual Christmas Fare with some fine wine on each table. All members and their guests will be welcomed.
