        HORNSBY & DISTRICT:

Retired Police Day was held at the Hornsby Police Station. A great morning tea was put on for us. We were shown the body camera that is being rolled out, makes a big difference to the way people carry on when they are told they are being recorded. We were given a demonstration of the Taser. Nobody volunteered to be the dummy. A very interesting demonstration.

Our October meeting was held with Warren Martin in the chair. Attending were Peter McDonnell, Warren Martin, Lesley Martin, Mark Edwards, Les Potter, Warren Cole, John Andrews, Ross Beattie, Kerry Larsen, Phil Scott, Bruce Williams, Carl Cameron, Ron Smith, Tony Sneddon, John Barber, Bob & Sue Waites. Visitor was Bob Broadbent from Hunter Region with an apology from Cliff Halpin.

Apologies were Geoff Hammond, Gordon Dafter, Jim Mumford, Bill Shute, Chris Reardon, Greg Muir, Wal Gaffney, John Howard, Eric Ransley, Ken McKnight, Alan Pollock, JohnSchell, Barry Inall, Barney Fyfe, Phil Pearce & Bill Leadbeatter. I attended the Back Up For Life Expo, great display and was great to run into people that you had worked with during your service.

Our meetings are held at the Hornsby RSL club on the first Tuesday of the even months, December being our Christmas lunch. Visitors are always welcome.

Peter McDonnell.
