Our Branch meets on the first Saturday of each month and in May our meeting attracted 19 members and one visitor Merv Melling from QRPA who expressed his wish to join this Branch. Also guest speaker Barbara Cunningham.

Guest speaker was Barbara Cunningham BSc (Hons) Dip Counselling. Barbara gave a very enlightening presentation. Dementia describes a collection of symptoms that are caused by disorders affecting the brain. It is not one specific disease. Dementia affects thinking, behaviour and the ability to perform everyday tasks. Brain function is affected enough to interfere with the person’s normal social or working life.

Barbara Cunningham is the Senior Dementia Advisor Alzheimer's Australia (Qld) Limited To commemorate the 70th Anniversary of Australia’s involvement with the United Nations, a march, followed by a short Service was held in Anzac Square, Brisbane, on Saturday 27th May 2017. A little known fact is that during 1947, Australia sent Military Observers to Indonesia, as part of the first United Nations Commitment to use Military, (and later Police), as Peacekeepers.

Nations theatres throughout the world. While no ex NSW Police were present, Clint, (Treasurer for the Brisbane & Northern Suburbs branch of the RPA), wears the tie of the NSW RPA, representing in a semi-official capacity, the 128 NSW Police, who served with the United Nations in Cyprus, (UNFCYP), between 1964 and 1975.

A recent visit to a French Restaurant saw some of our members being “French inspired". Some French inspired persons include Kerry & Marlene Beggs, Marilyn Fiddis, Peta Thiesffield, and Mary & Bob Stone
Lorraine and Des Newman Veteran member Laurel Underwood with daughter Dale DeMartino Kevin Ramm advised that the following who are on sick report, would love a good yarn with former workmates and Retired Police in General. Max Berrigan, Colin Purdon, Maisie Dolan & Doug Coughlin.
